Eagle Well Servicing is hiring a Fleet and Equipment Manager to join our team in our Blackfalds location!
Position Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Fleet and Equipment Manager is responsible for the overall support, preventive maintenance, and repair of Eagle Well Servicing’s service rigs and associated well-servicing support equipment. This role oversees all fleet and equipment-related projects, including preventive maintenance programs, upgrades, lifecycle management, and performance reporting using key performance indicators (KPIs). The position collaborates closely with all levels of operations to ensure equipment availability, safety, and reliability in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to maximize equipment efficiency, extend lifecycle, and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Oversee the maintenance, inspection, purchasing, scheduling and repair of all service rigs and support equipment, ensuring optimal performance and regulatory compliance.
- Working closely with Operations to coordinate fleet and equipment-related projects such as upgrades, retrofits, and new equipment integration.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date equipment records, maintenance histories, service schedules, and cost tracking.
- Monitor and analyze fleet and equipment KPIs, including maintenance effectiveness and operational costs; provide regular performance reports to management.
- Collaborate with field operations to schedule and prioritize preventive maintenance with minimal operational disruption.
- Contribute to capital planning and budgeting for fleet and equipment assets.
- Manage supplier and vendor relationships for parts, service contracts, and equipment procurement.
- Provide technical leadership and support to maintenance teams; oversee training and skills development.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of equipment operations.
- Travel to various operation locations to ensure proper preventive maintenance strategies are being implemented and followed.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must possess a strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices and regulatory requirements.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in equipment management within the oil and gas / production services sector.
- Strong understanding of service rig equipment, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing preventive maintenance systems.
- Proficient in interpreting maintenance KPIs and using maintenance management systems.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Post-secondary education related to engineering, equipment technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Must possess a valid drivers license.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
